This is how we made the recycled magazine mirror.

We started with a small mirror (this one was sold in a set of 4 mirrors at IKEA)

We made a cardboard frame

We glued the back of the mirror to the cardboard frame

And secured it all the way around the edge of the mirror

And a little bit more glue at the back

We cut strips of paper out of magazines, rolled them up, glued them with a regular glue stick and then fixed them to the sides of the frame

We cut them down with scissors or a cutter to match the width of the frame

Once the sides were covered, we started covering the front

We added a coat of varnish at the end

Wonderful! I love this idea. I’m thinking this is a great use of all the kids school papers they collect that don’t go in their journals but they don’t want to throw them away. You just solved a clutter issue for me! This can be an ongoing craft that later holds a school pic from the year they did the work in. Thanks for sharing.

Love this! Reminds me of the wastebaskets that my grandmothers made back in the 70′s.
